What changes the plan for landscapers?
A mower’s parked size differs from the space needed to inspect or clean it. Describe any fuel, soil, waste or washdown requirement; a dry equipment base does not automatically include those activities.
Measure bulky garden equipment and discuss fuel, soil and cleaning requirements with the team. Record the actual packed dimensions and any special requirements before using a generic unit-size comparison.
A practical idea for your workflow
Mark one collection-ready equipment set for the next job. Put returned equipment in a checking area before it joins the ready set, so the next crew can see what remains unfinished.
Bring this workflow into the enquiry alongside your measurements. It is a proposed organising method you can adapt, not a service operated on your behalf by the storage team.
Plan around the collection cycle
Separate bulk supplies from the next job’s kit and returned items awaiting checks. Describe whether you need storage only, a loading base or work activity. Tell the team about your normal vehicle and how often the equipment moves. A client-funded utility arrangement does not pre-approve charging, repairs or the substances you intend to keep.
Use the right planning inputs
Use the example below to understand the model, then replace the values with your own mowers, hand tools and bulky garden equipment. The example is a method demonstration, not an industry benchmark, facility specification or price quotation.
In this version, the planner highlights tool-check bench area and garden-equipment footprints. All other fields retain their stated units and assumptions. The result can be added to an enquiry with the inputs attached, so the team can see what the number represents.

ILLUSTRATIVE METHOD EXAMPLE
Workshop work-area budget
Two square metres of benches, 2 m² of machines, 3 m² of exclusive operating/handling areas, 1.5 m² of stock and 0.5 m² of service space give 9 m² before circulation. Reserving 25% of the final floor area for circulation gives 12 m² total. Adding 25% to 9 m² would give a different result; the planner deliberately uses a share of the final area.
Questions to settle before booking
- Will fuelled equipment, washing or maintenance work be proposed?
- What are the actual packed dimensions, longest item and any relevant weight or handling requirements?
- Is the proposed use storage only, or does it include work, utilities, visitors or special materials?
- What rental period, retrieval frequency and collection vehicle will be involved?
The Beckedan facility has 9 m² and 18 m² standard unit footprints, with expansion considered on request. Confirm actual usable dimensions, access arrangements and suitability. The lane is grass, so discuss its current conditions before collection. Rent quotations exclude VAT; utility connections and fit-out are at client expense under agreed terms.
Questions about this use
Will fuelled equipment, washing or maintenance work be proposed?
Include the relevant details in the enquiry before treating the space as suitable. The team must assess the actual goods, activity and arrangements; this page does not pre-approve them.
How do I use this plan to request a quote?
Replace the example inputs, calculate the result and choose “Add plan to an enquiry”. The next screen prepares a draft. It does not reserve space or send the enquiry automatically.
Does a calculated result guarantee suitability?
No. This is our task-first area budget. Enter separate, non-overlapping zones; operating space means clearance outside machine footprints. If zones are intentionally shared, enter their combined occupied area once and confirm whether that sharing is practical. Circulation percentage is a planning assumption, not a safety standard. The model does not specify safe clearances, floor loading, ventilation or electrical capacity.
